Scion, from Toyota Motor Sales, U. , Inc. , revealed the all-new 2008 Scion Xd 5-door subcompact at a press conference at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show.

The Scion Xd is a clever new take on the 5-door urban subcompact, with style and flair to match its efficiency and utility, explained Mark Templin, Scion vice president. The Scion Xd's aggressive look-and-feel is wrapped in a small, agile suite, while its dashboard provides cool details and a roomy cab.

The Scion Xd's fantastic look characterizes it as a Scion with its easy surfaces and sharp lines that flow from front to back. Its urban personality is communicated by its wide stance, thick muscular body, accentuated wheel flares and big tires. Other look-and-feel cues that set the Scion Xd apart include a long and narrow rear window, and the Scion family traits—horizontal headlamps, an integrated rectangular lower and upper grille, and turn signals built into the side mirrors.

Developers developed the Scion Xd with a short, wide frame in mind for better handling and convenience. additionally, the Scion Xd features an L-arm type Macpherson strut in the front and torsion beam suspension in the back for increased stability and a pleasing ride.
Making its debut at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto show, the 2011 Toyota Corolla - the best selling subcompact in America - will option new front and back look look-and-feel, new dashboard layout changes, Toyota Care complimentary maintenance plan, traditional Smart Stop Technology, and two new colours. With a compelling mix of responsive, fun-to-drive performance, proven value and significant security credentials, more than 30 million Toyota Corollas have been sold worldwide since 1966. The 2011 Toyota Corolla will go in sale in December.

The 2011 Toyota Corolla continues to provide Toyota's Star Security System traditional, which contains Car Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. It also features the traditional Smart Stop Technology brake-override system.

The 2011 Toyota Corolla is available in three grades: the base-model Toyota Corolla, LE, and S. All models are equipped with the 1. 8-liter DOHC four-cylinder motor, which produces 132 hp at 6000, rpm and 128 lb-ft of torque at 4400, rpm. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (vvt-i) controls valve timing on both the intake and exhaust camshafts to help optimize performance and fuel efficiency. Internal elements are optimized to reduce friction.

The 1. 8-liter motor is paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT) on the base Toyota Corolla, while the LE model features the four-speed automatic traditional. The four-speed automatic uses a torque converter with flex lockup for increased fuel economy, as well as uphill/downhill shift control. For a more engaging driving experience, the driver can shift the four-speed automatic manually by moving the shift lever to the left from its D position into the S position, then pushing forward for upshifts and rear for downshifts. An indicator inside the mix gauge shows the gear selected. The 1. 8-liter motor on the Toyota Corolla S transmits performance via the five-speed manual transmission or the four-speed automatic.
