Seat Toledo vs Ford Mondeo

Ford Mondeo

The Seat Toledo is an automobile built and marketed by Seat, a division of the Volkswagen Group. The Seat Toledo make name was first presented to the Seat line-up in 1991, and the third generation was presented in late 2004.

The Seat Toledo was the first Seat designed completely under Volkswagen leadership. The first generation was a saloon built on the Volkswagen Golf Mk II chassis, but with an extended boot, very close in size to the Passat. As saloon versions of small family vehicles were rare in Europe, it was considered by many a big family vehicle thanks to its size (despite having smaller back space and pricing closer to small family cars).

The Seat Toledo initially featured underpowered engines (standard for Volkswagen at the time) compared to the Ibiza and Malaga's System Porsche units, such as a base 1. 6 L with 75 PS (55 Kw) and a GT version using the 2. 0L/115 PS (85 Kw) motor. Later the Seat Toledo would see the addition of more comprehensive versions, including a 150 PS (110 Kw) 2. 0L GTI 16V and 110 PS (81 Kw) 1. 9 TDI which, like many VAG diesels built since 1996, it is advertised as capable of running on both mineral diesel and biodiesel.

In spite of having a saloon body, the first generation Seat Toledo was unusual in that it featured a hatchback boot opening. The Spanish vehicle received a mild facelift in 1996.
Ford of Europe is releasing the most stylish and technologically advanced Ford Mondeo model ever. With a fresh, restyled look, an improved dashboard, plus new high-efficiency Ford Ecoboost petrol and Tdci diesel powertrains and a host of new driver convenience and comfort features and security technologies, the new Ford Mondeo completes the rejuvenation of Ford's big vehicle range, and takes its position as the main model in the company's European portfolio.

Following significant upgrades to the Ford S-MAX and Galaxy, the new Ford Mondeo is the latest Ford vehicle to benefit from the continuing evolution of Ford kinetic layout, with subtle visual differences incorporated into key areas such as the front and back end.

The Ford Mondeo dashboard has also benefitted from a powerful rework with changes to the centre control panel and door panels, plus a range of new, high class materials.

New Ford Mondeo will see the first application of a higher performance 240 PS derivative of the efficient new 2. 0-litre Ford Ecoboost turbocharged petrol motor, joining the existing 203 PS version of this motor, presented in Ford Mondeo, new S-MAX and new Galaxy early in 2010.
