The Spyker D12 Peking-to-paris is a premium 4-door high performance SUV from the Dutch vehicle maker Spyker Vehicles. The model was presented at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show and production is planned to begin in late 2007. After the introduction there, the model already received well over 100 orders. The model was first presented to the North-american sphere, which is believed to be its main sphere, at the New York motor show in April 2006. The name Peking-to-paris refers to the Peking to Paris endurance rally held in 1907 from Peking (now named Beijing) in China to Paris in France, in which an almost traditional Spyker vehicle participated, driven by Frenchman Ch. Goddard. The Spyker vehicle came in second in the rally after a three month drive.
Despite having a weight of 1850, kg, the vehicle still goes from 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 5. 0seconds and has a top speed of 295 km/h. It achieves this by using a 500 bhp Audi W12 motor. Though being an SUV, the vehicle has a lot of layout features from Spyker's sports vehicle, the C8, such as the "aeroblade" wheels and smooth back view mirrors. Also notable is that the rear bench doors are hinged at the back, creating so named suicide doors.
Porsche AG is widening the top end of its Carrera model line and pairing up every of the two Porsche 911 Carrera GTS with an all-wheel drive twin. That means that the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupé and Cabriolet will combine the 408 hp (300 Kw) top of the range motor of the Carrera GTS family with the intelligent, all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM). Driving dynamics are not the only source of attraction. Economics are as well. due to Porsche Intelligent Performance the new all-wheel 911s consume no more than the equivalent Carrera 4S version, the Coupé remains at 11. 0l/100 km (25. 7 mpg imp. ) and the Cabriolet at 11. 2 l/100 km (25. 2 mpg imp. ) respectively based on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). Moreover both of them boast an even more powerful traditional equipment suite compared with the Carrera 4S models.
The Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS performance unit has its origins in the 3. 8-litre, six-cylinder Carrera S motor. A wholesale revamping of the intake duct added 23 hp (17 Kw), taking the performance output to 408 hp (300 Kw) at 7300, rpm. The special aspiration system not only enhances peak performance output but flexibility and performance development as well due to a more generous torque curve in the lower and middle motor speed range. 320 Newton metres kick in from as low as 1500, rpm; the six-cylinder motor provides its rated torque of 420 Nm in the broad motor speed range from 4200, rpm and 5600, rpm. The sports exhaust system fitted as traditional ensures a distinctly sporty audio. It invests the new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS with an unmistakable acoustic signature and the back view of its tail pipe with its original black surface layout lends it a original character.
